In het facebook groepje van Sansahash verscheen een oproep om mee te doen aan een blog tour. Ik had dit nog nooit gedaan, maar had er direct zin in, dus ik schreef me in.Je kon kiezen of je een patroontje gewoon wou maken ‘as is’, of je een patroontje wou ‘hacken’, of een ‘mash’ wou maken van 2 verschillende patroontjes.
There was a blog-tour-call in te Sansahash pattern-group on facebook. I had never participated in a blog tour before, but it seemed like fun, so I decided to apply. You could either choose to make one of the sansahash patterns ‘as is’, or you could also hack a pattern or even mash 2 patterns.
Ik koos ervoor om de patroontjes van de Imari short en de Kamaria top te ‘mashen’. Short en top tot een jumpsuit combineren, dat moest me wel lukken. Wat ik nog niet besefte is dat het Kamaria patroon al een optie jumpsuit/sunsuit biedt. Oeps.
I chose to mash the patterns of the Imari shorts en Kamaria top. Combining a top and shorts into a jumpsuit, I was quite confident I would be able to do that. What I didn’t realise at that point is that the Kamaria pattern already came with a jumpsuit/sunsuit option. Oops.
Maar ik ging toch aan de slag met mijn oorspronkelijke plan, uiteindelijk was het shortgedeelte van de originele kamaria-versie toch anders, niet?
But I decided to go ahead anyway. In the end, the shorts of the original Kamaria are quite different, no?
Ik maakte de short met tailleband en al, en zette er zelfs een knop aan. waardoor als de dochter het aanheeft, het toch 2 stuks lijken. Alleen een goede observator ziet dat het 1 stuk is. Zelfs de dokter, die aan haar buik wilde voelen, werd zo (per ongeluk) gefopt.
I made the shorts with waistband and even added a button. This way, when my daughter is wearing it, it seams like she is wearing 2 separate pieces. Only a very good observant can see it’s actually just one piece. We even fooled the doctor (by accident), when he was examinating her…
Ik maakte de foto’s op een onbewaakt moment, toen ze thuis aan het spelen was met haar kleine zusje. Geposeerde foto’s, dat lukt toch nooit…

Tutorial:
Ik maakte het niet te ingewikkeld. Het enige dat ik veranderde is dat ik de tailleband in 2 delen knipte (op de lange kant). Eerst naai je short en top volgens de beschrijving. De tailleband is wel maar half de hoogte en laat je nog even onafgewerkt. De top moet je ook niet afwerken beneden. Dan moet je top en short nog aan elkaar vastmaken.
I decided to keep it easy. The only thing I changed is that I cut the waistband in half so I ended up having 2 pieces instead of one. First you sew the shorts and top according to the pattern description. Your waistband is only half the height and you don’t finish the top edge. You don’t have to finish the bottom seam of te top either. After that you only have tot attach the top to the shorts:
- leg je short met de goede kant naar buiten/place the shorts so that the good side is on the outside
- Zorg dat de goede kant van de top op de goede kant van de short ligt, onderkant van top en onafgewerkte tailleband op elkaar/align the bottom seam of the top with te top of the waistband, good sides of both fabrics facing each other
- Hierbovenop leg je nog eens het tweede deel van de tailleband, met de goede kant naar binnen/put the second part of the waistband on top of this, good side of the fabric facing down.
- Speld vast en naai alles in het rond/ Pin and sew al the way round
- Plooi en strijk de onderkant van de tailleband 1cm naar binnen, speld en stik vast/Iron the bottom of the waistband 1cm to the wrong side. Pin. Sew.
- Klaar!/Finished!

Euhm durf ik nu bekennen dat de kleuren eigenlijk niet goed waren 🙈. Te veel tegen het licht getrokken. Ik heb de app snapseed gebruikt om dat bij te werken. Belichting eerst aangepast. En dan ben ik ook fan van de opties ‘korrelige film’ (waarbij ik de korrel wel op 0 zet) en de optie ‘vintage’ ( die ik ook meestal wat minder sterk maak).
